A Scar – A Reflection

A Scar is a reflection authored by Ilia Kramarik and found on page 94 of Ilia’s epic book of art and prose titled The Future Never Gives Up…In A Scar Ilia writes…”A scar is a crystallized wound and a calligraphy of the memory.” Wow so very well said…The featured image I choose for this reflection is yours truly by a train that marks a piece of unique USA history…To learn more about this Train watch my playlist that I will share at the end of this reflection…All of us carry scars be they emotional spiritual and or physical scars and this explains how and why it is that hurting people meaning people who hurt inside often unintentionally hurt other people…I would know because I bear emotional scars from my past that affects me in the present…Many of us have learned behaviors from our youth that if not healthy or good for us needs professional therapy and counseling to help to change so as to promote continued healing and growth…I do my best to stay mindful of the present so as to stay focused on the here and now and that helps me a lot…I was out for a wee stroll today when I stumbled upon that neat train track piece of USA history that you will learn more about at the end of this reflection…It is my hope that just as I continue to heal from the horrors of my past a day at a time that others around the globe will experience healing too…In this time of the Covid-19 pandemic I am mindful of the need to wear my mask so I make sure I wear a mask…One day recently I forgot my mask and I was near CVS and was able to ask for a free mask which was generously provided to me by a very kind CVS employee…Thank you CVS for providing free masks to forgetful folks like myself…Many will provide free masks…Many are also afraid of taking the vaccine for various reasons and there are too many conspiracy theories abounding which only serve to upset the public all the more…My elderly Aunt Mary got her two shot Covid-19 vaccine and is doing just fine others tell me they were vaccinated and are doing well…I inquired into the vaccine for me but due to my age group and health status I am not yet eligible…Unless you are a health care worker or an essential worker or of a certain high risk age group it is not possible for everyone to get the Covid-19 vaccine…I will get my vaccine when it becomes available…We need to stop the public hysteria around Covid-19 and simply wear our masks and follow the Center for Disease Control guidelines which are not hard to follow and are in place for good reasons…I am a very simple person and if it is in the general public’s best interest to get a vaccine for the greater good then I will get that vaccine…As a former health care worker who did morning blood draws among other things as a medical technician during my nursing school years…I received every kind of vaccination imaginable…I got my hep B series and other vaccines…I am not anti vaccine and too many create unnecessary hysteria around vaccinations…I also do not have any Covid-19 symptoms so when I recently asked to be tested I was told I would have to pay for my test as I have no fever or other symptoms…I figure if I ever do present with symptoms I will simply get tested then…No one is totally immune from this pandemic and we must be mindful and respect this pandemic which is worldwide as a very real public health crisis…I do not like when one nation like China a nation I once visited and enjoyed visiting and shopping in during my Hong Kong visit years ago…When one nation like China is blamed for this stupid pandemic…That is stupid that is like blaming one person for everyone else’s problems which makes no sense…China has helped many nations during this pandemic by sending masks and supplies to countries like Italy and other nations…China does a lot of good and no China is not perfect but neither is any other nation perfect…I am tired of the hate crimes too that seem to be increasing against minorities and now our Asian Brother’s and Sisters are being attacked that is not right and must be stopped…My aunt Mary lives in New York City and is surrounded by decent hardworking Asian neighbors who are very kind and considerate and one neighbor once helped my aunt get home safely after she had a fall…My aunt Mary like myself is very upset by hate crimes of any kind and as Irish women we understand because the Irish suffered a lot over the centuries too…I love my Asian neighbors and business owners and appreciate them all very much and we all must take a stand against hate crimes of any kind regardless of religion race color and or creed…Hate is a terrible thing and is from darkness and comes from a very dark place…I visited a neighboring business operated by my Asian neighbors and I am always happy to see them and they are always happy to see me…Today I told them both how much I appreciate them…I like to thank local businesses including my local convenience stop for being there and I understand too the need to pay more prices for convenience hence the concept of a convenience stop…I am learning to be more grateful every day and show my neighbors especially our local businesses sincere gratitude for being there in difficult times…Today while at the shop run by amazing hardworking Asian neighbors I said an especial prayer of protection over that place of business asking the mystical armies of heavenly angels to watch over and protect our holy innocent workers regardless of religion race color or creed…People are tired and many today are stressed out hate crimes only add to people’s stress and do no good but more harm…Please join me in a moment of silence asking the God of all of the living to heal the scars caused by hate crimes around the world…

…………A moment of silence please and thank you…………

A little prayer for healing around the world…

…May the God of life heal our nation and all nations who suffer spiritual emotional and physical scars around the globe during these difficult times of a world wide pandemic and hate crimes…Healing rain…Healing rain…Healing rain…Fall and heal our pain for we are a collective soul a species in need of rescue lest we become extinct from destroying ourselves from within…
