Leaning Into The Sky – A Reflection

Leaning Into The Sky can be found on page 75 of Ilia Kramarik’s book of art and prose titled The Future Never Gives Up…The featured image I choose for this reflection is from my time in Lanzarote Canary Islands with my son visiting fire mountain…This is known as “The Virgin’s Mantle” on fire mountain in Timanfaya National Park…

The poem Leaning Into The Sky consists of three stanzas with five lines each…I will quote the last stanza which I love…”then one last time the trees fall down in love and leaning onto the sky return to the universe that cares about their winter” — The universe cares just as nature nurtures nature cares sadly mankind are the only creatures notorious for ignoring their own intuition and for doing countless damage to other human beings and the environment and our world our planet…My father used to say to me growing up that “man will destroy man”…I would agree…I would add that woman destroys woman…Women can be vicious and women destroy other women all the time through vile gossip among other means…I must add though that man builds man and woman builds woman we can build each other up and be our brother’s and sister’s keeper or we can tear one another down…The choice is ours…Giving others space and respect is a way of building instead of tearing others down by not giving people their space and respect…I am going through my own personal desert like experience where I feel like I am living in a desert spiritually speaking…I get to be by myself now for a time while I heal from being sick…I was in hospital for eleven days not with the pandemic the covid-19 which I have not yet gotten thank God but for a condition I have that is chronic and rears its ugly head from time to time…My son is being taken care of and is doing well while I continue to heal…My life has not been easy due to my own condition which affects my ability to function at times…I keep myself busy these days and I would like to share a delightful you tuber that I discovered on you tube…I enjoy her clips so much I subscribed to her channel…This you tuber takes you on many a journey to interesting places which I find exciting to watch and it serves as an escape from the doldrums of my own personal desert storm…
