A Short Acquaintance – Apathy – A Reflection

These Little Reflections A Short Acquaintance and Apathy were authored by Akiane Kramarik between the ages of 7-11 in her book titled My Dream Is Bigger Than I – Memories of Tomorrow – Part Six Page 301 — “You will need your own copy of this book to view the full text of this poem.  I limit quotes for the purpose of discussion and to follow copyright guidelines that allows for limited quotes.”

The featured Image I choose for this reflection is my seriously silly good vibes photo…In A Short Acquaintance Akiane writes “As I try to greet you I trip over my long skirt.” and In Apathy Akiane writes “I understood the empty message—I smelled it. But the sight ignored the smell.” — I left out a portion of that little reflection as part of building the mystery that is Akiane Kramarik and to encourage my readers to purchase your own copy of Akiane’s amazing book of prose…Today is Election Day and I made sure to treat this day as the very important day it truly is…I am a huge history buff and history is made every day of our lives…So I took a shower and freshened up and dressed up nice N spiffy N got my son ready too…I took my son with me to the election day polling center which to my joy and pleasant surprise my son was given a very warm Texas welcome as only Texas can…Texas is awesome…My son was allowed to come with me his mum and watch me make history when I cast my vote for the next President of the United States of America…One of my dreams was to go to law school and to obtain my jurisprudence education…I cannot afford to go to law school so law school is no longer a dream I hope to pursue…However, I loose no time in teaching my son what makes a smart lawyer smart and an average person a great attorney…It is not so much knowledge of the laws of the land which though very important to be sure. It is most important to be well versed in the rules of engagement…Law is very much like chess…Which is why I am teaching my son how to play chess…No more silly chess for my boy the time has come to learn how to play chess…I will not pressure my boy to pursue law school and here is why…That would be me pushing my dream on my son which I refuse to do…I taught my son some valuable lessons today as follows…We are on a strict budget and I do not drive…I was able to sort out a voting polling center that was within walking distance so using old fashioned shoe leather express my son and I walked so that he could watch his mum make history via casting my vote…Today my son learned the value of exercising our civil rights…Also the value of knowing the rules of engagement…Because I registered to vote using my post office box address which is located in a different precinct than my home…I was allowed to vote for Presidential Candidates and for the local school district no problem but I could not vote for the local fire department…This is an example of how technicalities can sabotage and interfere with one’s right to vote…I let the local fire department men who were holding up their signs know of this technicality or rule of engagement and I lost no time in telling these men how disappointed I am that I was not aware of this technicality in advance…My message was well received and these men also puzzled over how it was my right to vote for our very fine local fire department was usurped due to a stupid technicality…I then noticed that two candidates were presented for a vote for the local school district but because I knew nothing about either candidate I showed my son why it was I choose to skip that voting choice…It is not right fair or just to vote with no previous knowledge or historical reference for either candidate…A property law question was put to the public for a vote asking for yet another increase in local property taxes to fund the public school system…I voted no to the increase in property tax due to this pandemic and also due to the financial strain so many homeowners are already experiencing…My son liked the idea of helping the local school district and told me that he would have voted yes…I explained to my son that my no was to an increase in property tax but that I agree to the idea of helping the local school district…My son was given a chance to listen to a talk from a black man who is hardworking and decent as to why he voted for one president in the previous election but changed his mind in the next election due to feeling disillusioned by false promises made by the one who was president for two terms prior to Trump’s administration…This election this Black man voted for Trump…My son really liked that Black man’s talk because what this man said made sense to my son…My son watched me his mother cast my vote for President Trump once more for this Presidential Election…I told my son that if he was old enough to vote that even if his vote was for Biden and not Trump that his choice of vote would not change or diminish my love for him as his mother…My son does not love Trump but he thinks Biden is much worse…My son feels that America’s choices for President were not strong and I showed my son why it is that I never vote for the Green Party or the other smaller parties such as the Libertarian party or the Constitution Party…This year there was no option to vote for a Constitution Party in the ballot I was presented with…Today I an Irish Immigrant to America made history in my own small way and I taught my son many things today as well…My boy is twelve years old and is now taller than me his little mother…My son has already made a difference in this world by changing my life for the better…I hope some day my son will do some good in the world for the greater good…My son has already changed my own life much for the better…My role is to teach my son by example the meaning of the words Holy Sacrificial Love and to understand the difference between false love and holy love…I am not ashamed to say who I voted for in this Presidential election…I am teaching my son by example how to stand your ground and how to vote for the greater good…My son said he would have voted for neither one of these candidates a position I respect from my twelve year old boy…A boy entering into manhood who has told me he is now ready to start shaving…Time flies by in the twinkling of an eye and before we know it our children are grown and gone so that when we die our legacy lives on through our children and their children…As a thank you for reading this reflection enjoy some of my stuff on you tube…By the way my son tells me that he has a feeling that President Trump will win this years election…
