The Lamentations of the UnbornThis poem was penned by Akiane Kramarik at age 7 in Part one of her book titled My Dreams are Bigger than I. “You will need your own copy of this book to view the full text of this poem. This poem talks about “the flower pot” being “empty without flowers.” This is referencing the children who are like flowers that were meant to live and grow up in this world. These children are no more like flowers not allowed to live. The “shadow” in this poem is the unborn child not allowed to live who must rest now in the palm of God’s hands where there is “enough love to see” and grow.
